food past midnight

One of the great things about Asia (especially Singapore of course!!) is , great food can be found within your 24hour day… you just need to know where and what! So after a night of drinking, the best way to get you along would be a something hot, wholesome and spicy!!!

So we opted for Frogs Leg Porridge! OK, stop squirming like a little girl. Once you crossed over you would be a follower for life!

We went to the notorious streets of Geylang where it is known for it’s great food and other things not suitable to mention on the blog…hahaaa…..

One place was well known for its food and for me served THE BEST FROGS LEG PORRIDGE…. G7 SinMa Live Seafood… it is known that this place started out as a simple little stall back in the day and has since taken ver the whole coffee shop and the level above it and in recent years acquired the stall across the road. Now that is the best testimony of how great their food is.

There were a few clay pot cooking styles to choose from, and we opted for the “Dried Chili Styled”, spicy and savoury, and well balance with the fragrant porridge… not forgetting to order the chilled Calamansi Lime juice, the best way to clean all the spiciness….(my mouth is watering as i am typing)

The porridge was smooth and silky, unlike some places which serves up an bowl of lumpy goo. There is always something great about things cooked in a claypot which makes it yummy to the eyes and just delicious over all. The balance of the spice with the spring onions and the tender meat from the frog is magnificent. And the consistency the dish was impressive. It tastes just as great as it was the last time i had it.

One of the best meals to have after hours and after that one too many round of drinks… but if you are not going to after hours, be sure to be there early especially on weekends as it is always packed with their faithful customers.

G7, Sinma  Live Seafood, 161 Geylang Road Lorong 3

A meal for 2 persons would cost you about $21 SGD.
