Tropical Getaway

by Chef Ben posted May 13, 2010 category General

That time of the year came round again … yurp it’s the 4th Anniversary of Bernie & I … hmmm …. and since being back I thought I’d give her (ahem .. and myself ..hahaaa) a treat. Especially when both our schedules are like a water and oil emulsion. We hardly ever have full days together (nope, this is not me going on a rant … :) )

Capella's Constelation Room

So I planned a “tropical getaway” for the both of us … think greenery (which my darling wife loves so much), think “not city spots” (since all the places we travel to are cities), think “no blackberry sounding every few minutes” (although we were on the phone a few times still), think “wireless” (as in NO INTERNET), think constant clicking on me D90!!!  Think CAPELLA …. (did I just come up with a radio like commercial ???)

The booking was done way ahead, with dinner plans all planned out, with the assistance of a personal assistant. Dinner bookings to a restaurant in Resorts World Sentosa, a trip to Universal Studios etc etc …

The hotel is truly breathtaking, the balcony, stunning room layout, honey baths, beautiful views, a really cool bar and just a really cool hotel. There are art pieces in almost every available spot through out the hotel. Night or day the whole place is just bursting with PICTURE ME !!! There is really no excuse for anyone to NOT take a photo. Perfect natural lighting and all. I would really recommend for you to see the photos as it speaks for itself.

However, apart from the contemporary design of the hotel, the true essence that caught us is actually the genuine service from the team at Capella. From the moment you confirm your booking all the way till your cab door closes for your departure. They leave nothing to chance ensuring you experience luxury. A great friend was just saying, “Luxury is not something you buy off the shelf”. The only let down is the food. But who can’t overlook this minor detail when you can look forward to an evening of sipping champagne while soaking in the jacuzzi …

We hope you enjoyed the post and don’t forget to check out the photos HERE

HAPPY FOODING !!!
